The representative hook shapes of tension springs are the reverse round hook and the round hook. The reverse round hook is in the foreground of the photo, while the round hook is in the background. The reverse round hook is designed to be pinched at the center before being raised (indicated by the arrow), which means the spring is pulled from the center of the coil, resulting in excellent load stability. However, a disadvantage is that stress (load) concentrates at the pinched part. The round hook, on the other hand, is raised without being pinched, which helps reduce stress concentration.
